Description and Requirements

 


We are seeking a senior-level Google Certification Specialist with deep expertise in the Android Automotive OS (AAOS) ecosystem, focusing on compliance and certification workflows.

At this role You will lead the end‑to‑end certification of our in‑vehicle infotainment (IVI) products, including Google Mobile Services (GMS), Compatibility Test Suite (CTS), Vendor Test Suite (VTS), and Google Automotive Services (GAS). If you have experience with collaborating with overseas OEMs or a proven track record of successfully completing Google certification programs you will be given priority!

Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written) are required, so you are able to engage in professional discussions with Google teams and overseas clients.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full certification process for GMS, CTS/CTS Verifier, VTS, and GAS, including test execution, issue analysis, defect tracking, and coordination with Google’s official certification teams.
  • Define internal development and testing strategies based on the latest Android Automotive Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) and Google API specifications.
  • Collaborate with the lower‑layer software, HAL, and Framework teams to analyze root causes and resolve compatibility, permission, and API‑related issues encountered during certification.
  • Build and maintain certification test environments, develop/maintain automated test scripts, and improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Prepare and submit all required technical documentation, test reports, and compliance statements to support smooth certification progress.
  • Track Google policy updates and ensure both current and future vehicle programs remain compliant; support re‑certification following OTA updates.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas OEM customers and Google regional teams to resolve technical, procedural, and business‑related issues in global certification scenarios.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Android development or certification, with leadership in at least 1-2 complete Android Automotive or mobile device GMS certification projects.
  • Strong understanding of Android architecture, familiarity with GMS/CTS/VTS/GAS certification workflows and tools; proficiency in Shell, Python, or Java, with the ability to develop automated test scripts.
  • Proven track record in obtaining official Google certification and GMS approval; familiarity with Google Play services integration and permission models.
  • Preferred experience supporting OEMs in North America, Europe, Japan, or other international markets.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Certified Associate Android Developer or similar credentials.
  • Familiarity with AAOS core services such as Automotive HAL, Car Service, and Audio Focus.
  • Direct collaboration experience with Google Automotive Solutions (GAS) or GMS teams.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety and its implications for Android‑based automotive systems.
