About Our Team

  • About Our Team - This position is for a Software Engineer in the Cloud & Software team, part of the Advanced Innovation Center. This is an exciting role to work closely with the Development, Security, DevOps, and Architecture teams to develop highly scalable solutions that integrate client agents and cloud services. To be successful in this role, you are expected to be highly hands-on, have knowledge of basic software engineering concepts, and be motivated to learn new technologies. 

What You'll Do 

  • Work with the development team to develop software solutions that can involve client and cloud components
  • Implement features going through the end-to-end lifecycle from design to production release
  • Review pull requests from your peers to ensure high standards, consistency, and durability of the implementation
  • Act as a lead evangelist on security related subjects having to do with cloud platforms, infrastructure, and device software development.
  • Develops security standards, policies, and best practices documentation
  • Design technical solutions, which include creating prototypes and proofs of concept while maintaining a security mindset
  • Work closely with application developers to deliver creative solutions to complex technology challenges and business requirements
  • Utilize various information system documentation, inspection tools to audit systems, analyze potential vulnerabilities and identify mitigation approaches
  • Acquire and review program documentation such as Risk Assessments, Security Plans, and Contingency Plans
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in Security and DevSecOps practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Computer Security, Information Systems, or related field, OR comparable level of professional experience
  • A natural problem solver with a focused interest in software security
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of cloud computing design and security principles
  • Understanding of operating systems design (Windows and/or Linux)
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Node.js, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more of the following certifications: CAP, CISSP and/or Security+ CE.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, devops and security practices and the tooling used in developing and deploying secure code
  • Understanding / proficiency in applications, containerization, APIs, web services
  • Knowledge of data structures, software engineering, distributed systems, and database systems
  • Previous internship experience in software development companies
  • Experience with working with a group of developers
  • Knowledge of source control systems (Git)
  • Basic experience with public Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Knowledge of RESTful web services
  • Familiar with container technologies such as Docker
