Who You’ll Work With

At Lenovo, we manufacture one of the world’s widest portfolios of connected products, including PCs (ThinkPad, Yoga, Lenovo Legion), tablets, smartphones and workstations as well as augmented and virtual reality (Mirage, ThinkReality) and smart home/office solutions.  We are also building an innovative portfolio of software and services which are changing the industry. About Our Team

As part of the Cellular Certification team, you will be responsible for planning and driving certification of many Lenovo connected devices with cellular carriers. While primarily focused on US carriers, the position will involve understanding requirements from global carriers and cellular industry groups, requiring a working technical knowledge of 4G and 5G networks, as well as related technologies such as eSIM, FirstNet, and cellular IoT.

This role is based in our Morrisville, NC headquarters, although requires continuous interaction interfacing with our global development and engineering teams in China, Japan, and Taiwan, in addition to US-based marketing, business, and technical teams. Remote work and work-from-home will be considered. Time flexibility to communicate with global teams is essential.

What You'll Do

  • Understand current and future certification requirements of specific carriers and build relationships required to negotiate and execute certification plans across a variety of connected devices.
  • Collaborate within the cellular certification team to create an execution strategy for each portfolio wave.
  • Clearly communicate with various internal and external development teams during all project phases. \
  • Maintain understanding of next generation cellular technology and use cases to position our products to best leverage those innovations. 

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with cellular wireless technology development, certification, or integration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to work across global boundaries with different cultures and time zones
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, email, and presentation)
  • While English is Lenovo’s primary language, any Mandarin or Japanese skills are a plus.
