Description and Requirements

Position Description:

Lenovo is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect who will play a key role in supporting the development and deployment of container and micro-services related service offerings.

The chosen candidate will be part of Lenovo Solutions & Services Group (SSG) as a member of the Center of Excellence team, driving service offering design and definition for our Professional Services, Managed Services, and TruScale Services businesses.

  • This role is primarily internal but includes some customer-facing work.
  • This is a remote-only role.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Hybrid Cloud Services Practice in the development and delivery of containers and micro-service-related service offerings
  • Technical lead for container-based and microservices offerings, working closely with the Hybrid Cloud Practice leader throughout the service offering lifecycle, including:
    • Assisting in the creation of new service offerings, starting with participation in the brainstorming phase, and providing expert guidance
    • Assisting/leading early implementations with Technical Consultants
  • Presentation delivery in support of:
    • Our offering development process
    • Field enablement/training
    • Service delivery activities
  • Assist in documentation of project requirements, statements of work, and service descriptions
  • Some business partner interaction

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of experience with HPC environments
  • Have a strong background in virtualization, containerization technologies (ex. Kubernetes), and high-value workloads/Enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with architecting, developing, delivering, and operating cloud-native applications, and container orchestration platforms on a global scale.
  • Market experience in one or more of the following: financial services, telecommunications, industrial manufacturing, energy, consumer products, high-tech, media & entertainment, and automotive
  • Experience in the definition, scoping, selling, delivery, and management of cloud infrastructure migration, implementation, operations, and optimization initiatives
  • Enterprise IT experience, including hands-on infrastructure hardware and application software development, operations, DevOps engineering, or systems architecture.
  • Experience with Enterprise and Cloud Products and Solutions such as Microsoft Azure/Azure Stack Family and SQL products, VMware Cloud Foundation, AWS/AWS Outposts, Google Cloud Anthos, Red Hat RHEL/OpenShift, IBM CloudPaks, SAP, Oracle.
  • Virtualization and Container Orchestration (ex. VMWare ESXi and VSAN, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, RetHat Openshift, Kubernetes).
  • Software-Defined Network (SDN) and Storage (SDS) technologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience building infrastructure strategy and reference architecture for all-in cloud deployments and hybrid scenarios
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Automation and Integration
  • AWS SA, Microsoft Certified Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Developer 
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and deployment of highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
  • Understanding of the relationship between various open-source software and hardware components
  • Deep dive understanding of one or more specific technology areas is a plus
  • Industry knowledge and experience with cloud-native architectures, services-based architecture, container-based solutions development, delivery, and operations as deployed for a variety of environments and use cases
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate technical issues, resolutions, and recommendations for customers, development teams, and leadership
  • Experience training others in understanding and using container-related solutions
  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment preferred
  • TOGAF 9 Certified, TOGAF Business Architecture preferred
