Description and Requirements

This position is for a Technical Lead in the Cloud & Software team, part of the Advanced Innovation Center. This is an exciting role to work closely with the Development, Security, DevOps, and Architecture teams to design, develop and implement highly scalable solutions that integrate client agents and cloud services. To be successful in this role, you are expected to be highly hands-on, implement critical components of the solution, and review code changes of other engineers to ensure high standards, consistency, and durability of the implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Spearheading the development team and converting the low-level design to high-quality implementation and deliverables
  • Identify dependencies and identify implementation gaps with multiple teams to ensure that the end-to-end solution is scalable, secure, extensible, and maintainable
  • Convey your development decisions to teams spread in multiple locations and time zones
  • Work with the Product Manager, Program Manager, and Scrum Master to review, groom and size the backlog items for each release
  • Set code quality standards, high automation coverage, secure coding practices, and best standard practices for CI/CD
  • Review pull requests to ensure high standards, consistency, and durability of the implementation

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or technical related discipline
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience working as a technical leader in moderately complex, distributed solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with Java, AngularJS, or Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with coding and performing code reviews
  • Experience as a full stack developer is highly desired
  • Strong demonstrable experience designing and developing large scale Cloud Native, Microservices based SaaS/PaaS applications
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes based deployments
  • Knowledge of WebRTC / MQTT / gRPC protocols is an advantage
  • Experience with Windows or Android app development
  • Solid understanding of RESTful web services
  • Strong understanding of client-side as well as backend technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, can coach, grow and mentor other developers
  • Experience working with a distributed global team
  • Development experience with MongoDB, Kafka, Spark, and other databases and big data technologies
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
