The role

We are looking for a talented communications leader to drive our PR activities and employee communications in UK and Ireland across all our business areas - Lenovo PCs & Smart Devices, Motorola smartphones, infrastructure solutions and services)

The role will be based in the UK reporting to the EMEA Director of Communications & Events. However, Lenovo operates a ‘country-first’ model, requiring close collaboration and coordination with the local business leaders, marketing managers and product teams.

The UK and Ireland is one of Lenovo’s priority markets and as well and delivering strong local campaigns, this role works closely with peers across EMEA, Global and Corporate on companywide initiatives. 


Position responsibilities

  • Lead for all internal and external communications activities within the UK and Ireland
  • Development and driving of communications strategy, goals, budget and tactics in line with both local, EMEA and global priorities.
  • Management of local communications agency with drive Lenovo’s reputation in the UK and Ireland – particularly with media, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online press.
  • Engage audiences across traditional and new media, including both paid and organic social media amplification.
  • Build engaging integrated campaigns across earned, paid, Social Media and Influencer channels to help Lenovo and Motorola reach new audiences
  • Exploit media relationships and cultivate new contacts within target media
  • Guide executive communications and increase the visibility, acting as the spokesperson for the Country General Manager.
  • Maintaining an efficient press office: manage media inquiries, media relations and interview requests with a particular focus on channel media
  • Content creation (press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations, executive speech writing etc).
  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a monthly basis
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
  • Drive local awards programme and key industry awards such as the CRN Awards
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
  • Support sales leaders, HR director, site managers and local GM and drive internal communications programmes and employee engagement initiatives
