Description and Requirements

Lenovo’s quality team is currently seeking a customer quality safety engineer for PC and smart devices. In this position you will be performing post incident  product safety assessments and failure analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess safety of PC and smart device product failures
  • Perform onsite customer environment and incident inspection as needed
  • Perform failure analysis of product defects
  • Drive defect resolution with product owners
  • Drive future product improvements

Basic Requirements:

  • Certified Fire Inspector
  • Knowledge of safety regulatory requirements governing and regulating the safe use of electronic equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of Li-ion and other battery technology
  • PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work some evening hours
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed
  • Team player attitude with the ability to work proactively & autonomously

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Materials analysis background
  • Familiarity with PC development process
  • Bilingual English/Chinese
