Description and Requirements

Responsibilities:

•  Create and maintain technical documents, including policies, procedures and standards

•  Thorough understanding of data governance and metadata management concepts

•  Understands and can apply fundamental concepts related to an enterprise data catalog and business data lineage for common data definitions for enterprise critical data elements

•  Partner with data owners, data stewards and technical teams to validate that business and technical metadata are captured and accurate

•  Act as an advisor to stakeholders on data retention, classification and security, leveraging corporate data retention and security policies produced from customer experience and PII data

•  Familiarity with SQL language and ability to query and maintain data models

•  Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends within the customer experience domain

•  Ensure that the metadata and lineage maintenance is integrated into SDLC and aligned to both business and technology governance activities

•  Promote adoption of glossary, metadata and lineage tools and processes through training, communication and user feedback and survey

•  Define, implement, enhance, and maintain metadata governance processes, monitor, and report compliance and progress

•  Develop and maintain reporting framework that provides status and completeness levels of metadata, lineage and records

•  Facilitate data stewards working group and communications related to metadata and mitigate risks resulting from metadata deficiencies

•  Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to speak to varying levels

 

Position Requirements

  • BE/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in data governance practices
