Description and Requirements

The Data Quality Manager (DQM) works closely with Data Owners, Business Stakeholders, Data Engineers, and Data Domain Leads to

Educate & promote understanding & value of good quality data Implement necessary data quality checks & balances to ensure expected data quality across the enterprise data Ensure continued good quality of data through effective stakeholder engagement and ongoing monitoring & communication processes

The DQM works closely with stakeholders to implement necessary data quality rules in the Data Quality Management System; develops effective processes, procedures, and standards to ensure high quality of data. The DQM will act as the quality representative within the data governance organization and owns data quality for the assigned data domain/tower.

The Data Quality Manager also ensures data owners & business stakeholders understand data quality drivers and works with them to execute plans to improve data quality. The Data Quality Manager works with the quality analyst to define quality metrics and measures/monitors quality of data coming out of the assigned data tower. The DQM maintains knowledge of industry standards and trends, and drives application of such standards within Lenovo


1. Represent Data Quality team in Data Governing body;

2. Work with stakeholder to define Data Quality governance rules to develop and implement data quality standards;

3. Work with assigned tower lead and data owners to define data quality strategy;

4. Coordinate with Data Owners to evangelize the importance of data quality;

5. Work with Data Engineers to translate business rules in to data quality rules and implement them;

6. Take accountability for ensuring compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations and policies;

7. Developing documentation, enforcement policies & procedures that track and ensure high data quality is created and managed to align with business needs;

8. Data Quality Manager will produce periodic quality reports for their respective towers;

9. Identifies and manages critical data quality issues and risks;

10. Facilitates Data Quality related discussions within Data Working Groups;


1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred;

2. 5 years of experience in high tech domain working with Data Governance and Quality Solutions, Master Data Management Solutions and/or Data Management / Programming Languages;

3. Experience in one or more data quality tools; Informatica experience is preferred;

4. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills;

5. Familiarity working in a global team environment, e.g. with teams in China, India, North America;

6. Self-starter and decisive personality, comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with a high sense of accountability;

7. Team and customer-service oriented, flexible and adaptable with proven ability to solve problems in a collaborative and timely manner;

8. Ability to build strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
