Description and Requirements


We are seeking a highly qualified, detail-oriented, and results-driven Windows Image Engineer to create, modify, test, and validate custom Windows images for Fortune 500 clients. This role focuses on Lenovo ThinkPad laptops, ThinkCentre desktops, and ThinkStation workstations, with occasional support for non-Lenovo hardware.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Windows operating systems, image creation processes, and scripting, along with strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, test, and deploy custom Windows images from scratch for multiple hardware platforms (primarily Lenovo, with occasional support for other brands).
  • Utilize imaging tools including Microsoft DISM, Windows ADK, Sysprep, custom OOBE configurations, and internal manufacturing tools.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (batch, PowerShell, Autopilot, VBScript, etc.) for image customization and automation.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of operating system architecture, boot processes, and configuration techniques, including Unattend.xml, registry manipulation, and other customization methods.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to gather custom image and BIOS/CMOS requirements, document project scope, and create test plans for customer approval.
  • Deliver technical documentation and provide test results based on approved plans.
  • Manage the image release process, including packaging approved images for manufacturing.
  • Work closely with sales teams to understand customer needs and contribute to project proposals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience creating and customizing Windows images from scratch.
  • Expertise in tools such as Microsoft DISM, Windows ADK, and Sysprep.
  • Strong scripting skills (batch, PowerShell, Autopilot, VBScript, or similar technologies).
