Description and Requirements

The Lenovo Experience Design Group is a global group of highly skilled and talented people doing what we love, designing the very best world-class products. You will be an integral part of the team, working together across continents and cultures in a friendly, fast-paced and inspiring work environment. At Lenovo, we design and deliver technology products to a wide range of customers and use cases with brands such as: ThinkPad, Yoga, Ideapad, and our new Legion gaming products.

By joining the Lenovo EDG team, you have the opportunity to make a difference for our customers and the consumer electronics industry as a whole. We are looking to add a design strategist to our team that will help us visualize and communicate the future of Lenovo.  You will play an integral role in our overall Design team and will be part of an eclectic mix of great designers and craftspeople. This role would be a fit for you if you’re passionate, optimistic and likely an extrovert. You’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with internal and external partners and will collaborate with a variety of disciplines to widen your breadth of knowledge and expand your impact. You’ll work closely with our Strategic Design manager and the VP of design to design the future strategy for Lenovo and will be the ultimate advocate. If you have outstanding communication skills and the ability to craft a vision into a cohesive design story and strategy, this position could be perfect for you.


  • Build design stories that articulate customer insights, trends, brand initiatives and design strategy to motivate internal and external partners
  • Be the EDG storyteller by creatively communicating the vision through verbal, text and imagery to executives, geography leaders, customers and assist in motivating and unifying the design teams
  • Lead EDG social media communications by working with the design leadership team
  • Build relationships and appropriately influence relevant internal teams and direct business contacts to achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Maintain relationship with external trend agency, be the trend ambassador for EDG and host workshops with designers to influence future direction
  • Lead design thinking workshops for existing or new areas of the business
  • Participate in designing and visualizing future products, graphics and solutions through sketching, rendering, 3D modeling and videos.

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in industrial design, graphic design, communication design, or equivalent is preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in design, design strategy, story building and storytelling
  • An excellent portfolio showcasing product, graphic and communication design examples
  • Outstanding communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to visualize, craft and articulate complex concepts
  • Experience building and managing relationships with internal and external partners
  • Proficiency in MS Office (specifically power point), Adobe CS
  • Ability to travel to international sites
