Description and Requirements


1.Design for Service focal point for Lenovo’s Product teams which include; Desktops, Workstation, All-in-ones, Smart meeting Device, Edge device, AR/VR glass
2.Lenovo product and competitor hardware design evaluation including ROI analysis
3.Align with Lenovo RD, ODM/OEM to define service FRU parts, drive kitting action if needed to avoid high MOQ or field service difficulty
4.Lead decisions on service part definition and label standards
5.Drive improvement to repair lead times, parts used per incident and the number of customer replaceable parts
6.Influence and sometimes author training material
7.Disseminate information regarding Lenovo’s product designs with corresponding service and diagnostic plans to Global Service project managers. Areas include, but are not limited to;
a.Tools requirements & plans
b.Service part definitions
c.Diagnostic policies as it pertains to Service & Support
8.Represent issues and concerns of regional service teams regarding all product design concerns
9.Post launch product analysis
a.Review of  field service execution challenges
b.Review best design for service practice with ODMs

1.2/4 yr degree or equivalent in computer field or mechanical engineering
2.Knowledge of Product Development and Lifecycle process (concentration on hardware and diagnostics)
3.,Strong hardware development background, at least 3yrs experience in computer service / field support or related area
5.Knowledge of global warranty, service and support operations (strong call center and field service focus)
6.Strong familiarity with Lenovo’s hardware portfolio and current diagnostic solution
7.Fluent written & oral English
