About Our Team:
Our Market and Competitive Intelligence team is part of Lenovo's Infrastructure Solution Group’s Strategy Office.  This team is responsible for coordinating Market Intelligence and business strategy formulation, both short and long term. Our team is small but delivers strong value to the ISG leadership team.  We have a constant pulse on the market and our rivals. We predict our rivals’ next move before they do. We try out new things constantly, learn from them, and iterate.


What You'll Do:
In the Director, Market Intelligence role, you will be the single end-to-end owner for all activities related to reporting ISG results, assessing the competitive, technology, and geographical landscape, and creating annual and five year market forecasts.  Using multiple internal and external quantitative and qualitative data points, you'll create and guide the ISG market perspective.  In addition, you will be responsible for ongoing transformation and automation of our market intelligence data gathering, analysis, industry guidance, and presentation/visualization.  You have a customer-first philosophy, passion for analysis, and roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. This position will report to the Executive Director of Strategy for ISG.  

In this role, you will work with several internal constituencies, including our senior leadership team, finance, supply chain, product management, analyst relations, and sales & marketing.  In addition, you will be responsible for interacting with and forging strong relationships with our research/analyst community, key suppliers, and strategic partners. You will act as a trusted partner and advisor to these teams.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years industry experience in a market or business intelligence role
  • Strong technical understanding of server, storage, and SW architectures
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, data science, or a related field
  • Familiarity with data collection/analysis/modelling and visualization tools. Examples include SQL, Hadoop, Python, R, Tableau, Qlik Sense, and Excel
  • Knowledge in executing data analytics. Examples include Regression, Decision Trees, and Clustering
  • Strong communication skills a must; Ability to clearly present data to decision makers
  • Proven track record forging and developing strong relationship with key partners/suppliers, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Data Science
  • Superior thought leadership and influencing / collaboration skills
  • Interpersonal/teaming skills appropriate to a cross-cultural, international work environment
  • Willingness to work across time zones and cultures
