On April 1, 2021, Lenovo launched a new business group called Solutions & Services Group (SSG) whose mandate is to lead our company’s services-led transformation. This transformation requires working with our existing business partners and alliances to support SSG as a “services” company and “solutions” provider in addition to continuing to partner with Lenovo as a “hardware” OEM and “product” leader.

You are a seasoned executive who is a native to the IT services industry, with a track record of developing strategic alliances plays and new partnership models that move the needle for the top-line and bottom-line P&L. This role will require you to identify and onboard new types and tiers of alliance partners that are geared toward driving Lenovo’s services evolution, as well as working with Lenovo’s existing alliance partners to transform the relationship into a services and solutions context. You must be a highly motivated self-starter with a vision for market leadership in solutions and services.

You will be responsible for achieving results through your thought leadership and strong relationships. You will rely on your full understanding of Lenovo SSG’s strategic objectives and your deep insight into the IT and IT Services industry developments, business models, and market opportunities to develop a vision for SSG’s Alliances organization, strategy, and programs. You must be comfortable developing strategy at the senior executive level as well as performing hands-on execution. In other words, you must be an excellent written and oral communicator who can translate insights into actionable plans.

As the Director of Alliances for Lenovo SSG, you will have a meaningful impact on Lenovo by executing the company vision of “Smarter Technology for All” as a services-led company.


·   Be the subject matter expert on the IT services and solutions industry landscape, partner ecosystem, market developments, and business model transformations

·   Partner with key internal stakeholders and other senior leaders to develop and continually enhance the major strategic engagements that guide Lenovo’s transformation into a services and solutions company

·   Lead a team that will execute successful transactions and partnership frameworks including deal negotiation, structuring, due diligence, financial modeling, integration, and project management

·   Drive proactive deal sourcing and pipeline development by identifying key partnership opportunities on the ground and in key markets

·   Cultivate and expand strong business relationships with Lenovo’s alliance partners and other industry leaders, with emphasis on developing new ways of working in services and industry vertical solutions

·   Develop a tiered alliances framework to evaluate and cultivate partners using defensible strategic rationale, clear decision criteria, and achievable results


·   10+ years of experience in services and solutions or a series of related roles, with a focus on partner/alliance ecosystem development and project management

·   Proven leader in alliances, business development, and strategy at the senior leadership level with significant, measurable global and/or regional impact

·   Exceptional business acumen and a progressive, visionary mindset focused on continuous improvement and agility to respond to the changing business landscape

·   Proven experience in successful deal origination, structuring, and execution with P&L results

·   Ability to operate in a highly strategic and visionary role while also executing on day-to-day requirements; ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment undergoing rapid change

·   High aptitude to learn quickly and be held accountable to results, with ability to navigate situations involving ambiguity and limited precedent

·   Four-year university degree in a STEM field

·   MBA or advanced degree preferred

·   Significant leadership experience in a global multi-national IT services company preferred

·   P&L ownership experience preferred
