Description and Requirements

The Email Operations Manager will support our Global eCommerce team and requires a unique blend of strategic and tactical skills - someone who has a strong attention to process and detail, yet is able to draw ‘big picture’ conclusions and make actionable business recommendations based on an understanding of strategic marketing goals. This position will be responsible for planning and executing marketing automations, segmentation, reporting, and data analysis. Success in this role will require tight collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders including the email strategist, geography email leads, and creative production.


·        Manage email operations for automations, maintaining a high level of accuracy and ensuring all deadlines are met.

·        Oversee email creative, designing and using layouts within our email platform, and working alongside creative resources for copy and imagery.

·        Prepare all email campaigns for send, including finalizing templates, checks and signoffs Including links, compatibility with major email clients, desktop/mobile, image size, etc.

·        Segment email lists based on customer lifecycle, affinity, and email preferences to deepen engagement and improve conversion.

·        Integrate recommendations into programs as we continuously improve our engine, tuning campaigns to maximize ROI.

·        Manage project timelines and quality issues.

·        Ensure we adhere to email marketing laws including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CASL.

·        Continually monitor email key metrics (opens, clicks, opt-out).

·        Implement an A/B testing program for opens, clicks and conversions.

·        Understand email best practices, recommending new ideas & functionality for creative and ensuring our lists are always in peak health.

·        Maintain a deep understanding of our customer lifecycle, across all platforms and products and understand how email touches each part of the customer journey.

·        Work closely with technology partner to define and implement new functionality and product offerings while adhering to marketing best practices.


·        Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or relevant field.

·        5-7 years’ experience in marketing, communications, or eCommerce merchandising.

·        Experience using marketing automation tools (i.e. Marketo).

·        Experience in direct marketing, database marketing, analysis or financial analysis and e-mail campaign marketing experience.

·        Understanding of regulatory environment for email marketing programs.

·        Strategic thinker and creative problem solver with data-driven analytical aptitude, ability to ask the right questions and to organize information quickly and set direction.

·        Highly organized, strong attention to detail and outstanding time management skills.

·        Strong project management and process orientation.

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

·        Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet.
