Position Description:

Lenovo is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect who will play a key role in supporting the development and deployment of IaaS and PaaS-related service offerings.

The chosen candidate will be part of Lenovo Solutions & Services Group (SSG) as a member of the Center of Excellence team, driving service offering design and definition for our Professional Services, Managed Services, and TruScale Services businesses.

  • This role is primarily internal but includes some customer-facing work.
  • This is a remote-only role.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Hybrid Cloud Services Practice in the development and delivery of IaaS and PaaS service offerings.
  • Work with the world's largest Enterprise and Cloud companies and drive the "voice of the Enterprise" (customer and market requirements) into the product roadmap and new technology development.
  • Develop/Architect full-stack (infrastructure + application) Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Solutions with large ecosystem Partners and customers.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Enterprise and Cloud Solution stacks that span computer, networking, storage, infrastructure, and application management and orchestration.
  • Have a strong background in virtualization, networking, security and containerization technologies (ex. Kubernetes), and high-value workloads/Enterprise applications with a particular focus on databases, analytics, and AI.
  • Work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
  • Work across internal teams, divisions, and external partners to develop and deliver solutions that drive new technology innovations and revenue for Intel.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, and be willing to engage and interface with all levels of an organization.
  • Drive senior-level relationships across Large Enterprises, Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), OEMs, System Integrators, and other ecosystem partners.
  • Be the technical lead for VMWare based IaaS and PaaS offerings, working closely with the Hybrid Cloud Practice leader throughout the service offering lifecycle, including:
    • Assisting in the creation of new service offerings, starting with participation in the brainstorming phase, and providing expert guidance
    • Assisting/leading early implementations with Technical Consultants
  • Presentation delivery in support of:
    • Our offering development process
    • Field enablement/training
    • Service delivery activities
  • Assist in documentation of project requirements, statements of work, and service descriptions
  • Some business partner interaction

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years of Cloud Architecting experience of large-scale systems with a minimum of 5+ years of experience with at least one cloud platform like VMware, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Proven experience with designing, developing, and delivering global-scale platforms for Software-defined data centers, container technologies in the industry (Docker, Kubernetes, Calico, etc), DevOps practices, and CI/CD tools.
  • Should have designed and implemented IaaS and PaaS solutions and platforms to cater to SLA requirements – multi-AZ/ multi-site architecture. (RTO/RPO objectives)
  • Have a strong background in VMWare virtualization, networking, security, containerization technologies, devops, automation, and high-value workloads/Enterprise applications.
  • VCDX – VMWare Certified Design Expert, Cloud Management and Automation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience building infrastructure strategy and reference architecture for all-in cloud deployments and hybrid scenarios.
  • Enterprise IT experience, including hands-on infrastructure hardware and application software development, operations, DevOps engineering, or systems architecture.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and deployment of highly available, secure, and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments.
  • Programming/Scripting experience with Yaml, Python, Shell; configuration management/orchestration tools like Terraform, Saltstack, Ansible, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitOps, etc.
  • Understanding of Load Balancers, Software-defined networks (subnets, NATs, Gateways), CDN, HTTP1/2, Storage systems, Security (Authentication/Authorization, SSL); Firewall (L4-7), CDN, etc.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure & Application monitoring
  • Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering techniques
  • Experience in the definition, scoping, selling, delivery, and management of cloud infrastructure migration, implementation, operations, and optimization initiatives
  • Market experience in one or more of the following: financial services, telecommunications, industrial manufacturing, energy, consumer products, high-tech, media & entertainment, and automotive
  • Understanding of the relationship between various open-source software and hardware components
  • Have a systems integrator background with experience in direct/channel.
  • Deep dive understanding of one or more specific technology areas is a plus
  • Industry knowledge and experience with cloud-native architectures, services-based architecture, container-based solutions development, delivery, and operations as deployed for a variety of environments and use cases
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate technical issues, resolutions, and recommendations for customers, development teams, and leadership
  • Experience training others in understanding and using VMWare hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing IaaS and PaaS environment preferred.
  • TOGAF 9 Certified, TOGAF Business Architecture preferred.
