Lenovo High Performance Computing (HPC) team is looking for a Technical Consultant for Power and Cooling to join its Global Professional Services team.

This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use and expand your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites. You will be trained, where necessary, to handle one or more projects concurrently and will be responsible for managing and working effectively and collaboratively.

This is a fully remote role. This role will also require 50% travel to customer locations.


What You will do:

  • Provide technical leadership on-site for large-scale, liquid cooling deployments.
  • Liaise directly with Lenovo customers and become a trusted advisor for power and cooling requirements.
  • Decipher complex RFP requirements related to facility power and cooling infrastructure and help IT architects design an IT solution that fits within those limitations.
  • Architect complex power and cooling solutions for air and water-cooled IT solutions.
  • Work with key stakeholders (customers or internal) requesting infrastructure enhancements to develop a clear understanding of requirements and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with sales and critical engineering subject matter experts to determine the solution scope and projected costs.
  • Drive the build vs. buy decisions as needed, and identify key technologies needed to deliver new products with each release.
  • Participate actively with Development and external organizations (CDU providers) while staying current with technologies and techniques that will move our business forward.
  • Be able to provide engineering guidance over a wide range of disciplines (power/electrical, mechanical, thermal, plumbing, controls).

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in providing effective leadership in engagements as a technical consultant in the power and cooling subject matter area.
  • Experience working in technology disciplines such as power/electrical or mechanical/thermal engineering.
  • HVAC project engineering experience is advantageous.
  • Understanding data center and IT solution power delivery architectures, cooling architectures, and heat transfer.
  • Proven ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders and ability to drive issues to closure.
  • Experience in providing effective leadership in engagements as a technical consultant in the power and cooling subject matter area.
  • Strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions.
