Description and Requirements

The Commercial Software & Security business group, part of the IDG Commercial organization, develops and launches software solution offerings across both third-party ISV partnerships and internally developed products. The portfolio spans the ThinkShield Security family of products as well as complementary software solutions in areas such as endpoint management, workspace productivity, and cloud services.

Software solutions are a strategic growth driver for the Commercial business, delivering measurable customer outcomes in a high-margin segment that has sustained double-digit year-over-year revenue growth.

This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will shape how software offerings move from concept to market, build the PMO discipline that scales with a growing portfolio, and partner directly with leaders across the organization.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for software solutions. This role is the central driver of the end-to-end software launch lifecycle, ensuring that every stage is executed with discipline, transparency, and cross-functional alignment. The Project Manager will work closely with Software Product Managers and all cross-functional stakeholders involved in bringing new software offerings to market.

In addition to managing individual launch projects, this role leads the Program Management Office (PMO) function for the software launch portfolio. The PMO leader is responsible for maintaining the project inventory, governing the stage gate process, and continuously applying best practices and lessons learned to refine the frameworks and templates that underpin the Software Offering launch methodology.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead the NPI process for software solutions from initiation through general availability, ensuring compliance with the defined Software Launch process at each phase.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the project plan and schedule, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and resource allocations.
  • Oversee day-to-day project execution, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies and driving them to resolution or escalation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate stage gate meetings, ensuring all required deliverables are completed and stakeholder endorsements are obtained prior to gate passage.
  • Track and manage all issues, action items, and dependencies across workstreams, maintaining clear visibility for leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Drive accountability across functional teams, ensuring on-time delivery of launch commitments without direct reporting authority.

PMO Leadership

  • Serve as the PMO leader for the full portfolio of software launch projects, providing portfolio-level visibility and governance.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all active and planned software launch projects, including status, timeline, and resource data.
  • Drive the Portfolio Investment Decision team calendar, ensuring regular cadence and compliance with the stage gate exit process across the portfolio.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain the framework, templates, and standard operating procedures for the Software Offering launch process.
  • Establish and report on key metrics and health indicators for the launch portfolio, enabling informed investment and prioritization decisions
  • Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, reduce cycle time, and strengthen cross-functional coordination across launches.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between Software Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Legal, Finance, and other functions involved in the launch process.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise project status communications to leadership, including executive dashboards, stage gate readiness reviews, and escalation summaries.
  • Build strong relationships across organizational boundaries, navigating effectively in a matrixed environment to achieve results through influence and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on project management experience, preferably in software or technology product organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading a Program Management Office (PMO), including defining governance frameworks, templates, and reporting cadences.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through completion in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong understanding of stage gate methodologies and structured product launch processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messages for audiences ranging from working teams to senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with software-as-a-service (SaaS) or cloud solution launch processes.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies in addition to waterfall or stage gate frameworks.
  • Experience in a technology OEM or enterprise software environment.

Base gross monthly salary starts from 4.250 EUR. The final offer could be, of course, negotiated higher than the advertised minimum - it all depends on your experience! In addition, there is also variable part (a bonus) in value of 14% of your annual earnings.
