The Role

The Marketing Strategy & Planning Manager is a key leader on the North America Marketing team within Motorola Mobility.  They will lead in developing our marketing strategy to align with overall business goals while ensuring execution is on-time and on-budget while adhering to Motorola brand quality standards.

This individual loves strategic planning and budgeting and has a deep understanding of a multi-faceted Marketing environment.  They know that cross functional collaboration and communication is key to consult on the right strategy for our business. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Active Planner of all marketing activities including:

  • Channel Marketing – Understanding channel financial challenges as well as strategic market position and assisting the lead with insights and directions.

  • Brand Marketing – Keeping deliveries within Brand tone and guidelines. But also making sure that assets are provided according to region’s needs.

  • BTL – Evaluate the placement of BTL fixtures and overall promo programs suggesting new ways of setting up the results

  • Budget split and follow up – Coordination budget splits with the finance team, Global Marketing Operations team as well as internal stakeholders and channel leads

  • Strategic Partnerships – Supporting the strategic partnership area with numbers and dashboards to subsidize the value in all partnerships.

2. Write the final agency brief and follow up with all IAT agencies on deliveries to guarantee perfect timing and execution on both sides (Moto and Agency)

3. Cross collaboration with other teams such as marketing, finance GoToMarket teams 

4. Follow up on opportunities and support the decision making process with the Marketing leads, agencies and Integrated Marketing team

5. Interact with the Global team for demands and deliverables regarding media plans and creative plans for all marketing areas.

6. People leader and manages a small team

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree Marketing or similar 

  • 5 + years of relevant experience 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Marketing budgeting experience - Excel wiz!

Nice To Have

  • Financial background  

  • Relevant industry experience in the technology /telcom  

  • Previous People Management Experience
