Description and Requirements

To help enforce our core values of integrity and trust, Lenovo is seeking an experienced investigator to play a key role in Lenovo's global ethics and compliance program. The position will be based in Morrisville, NC reporting to the Sr. Counsel, Ethics & Compliance.

This role will support the success of the ethics and compliance program and have responsibility for the following initiatives:

  • Independently lead and conduct comprehensive fact-based objective internal investigations into alleged breaches of internal policies, or laws and regulations in a thoughtful and timely manner
  • Conduct professional investigative interviews of personnel and third parties, which may involve sensitive topics
  • Author clear, detailed, objective, fact-based reports of assigned investigations, and maintain well-organized, accurate, and complete case files
  • Provide routine briefings on investigative matters to members of management, including members of the Investigation Oversight Committee
  • Facilitate disciplinary and preventive discussions arising from substantiated breaches of internal policy, law, and regulations, and recommended action plans to prevent recurrence
  • Oversee and manage internal investigation processes, including the system of record and corresponding case files
  • Develop and maintain internal governance policies and procedures related to internal investigations
  • Develop and deliver effective and engaging training for internal investigators
  • Support drafting of reports or communications regarding compliance investigations and other compliance-related current events to raise awareness and promote a speak-up culture
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements that require corrective action, and identify data that may be indicative of potential systemic breakdowns, trends, or emerging risks
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with business functions of the Investigation Oversight Committee, and members of Legal, Human Resources, Internal Audit, IT, and Security
  • Collaborate with members of Legal to investigate and address attorney-client privileged reviews
  • Support other initiatives of the global Ethics & Compliance Program as they are assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience independently leading complex investigations on behalf of a corporate legal or compliance team or a law enforcement agency
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and organizational skills, including the ability to construct and deliver presentations
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple matters simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to achieve objectives within a complex and matrixed organization
  • A collaborative team member that also works well independently
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours to communicate with global teams
  • Prior experience in investigations related to ethics and compliance areas, including anti-bribery/anti-corruption, fraud, embezzlement, financial controls, conflicts of interest, harassment, and fair competition
  • Demonstrated integrity and a commitment to the highest ethical standards and values, including proven ability to maintain confidentiality
