Position Description:
We are looking for a talented Communications Manager with a strong ability to promote and enhance Lenovo Manufacturing & Engineering (LME) brand image in the company & the industry. The right candidate will drive external communications in and beyond Lenovo on behalf of GSC, and some of internal communications across end-to-end business functions.
The Communications Manager will be part of a seasoned, diverse, and lean team to strategize and execute external and internal communications across LME functions. The objective is to tell the best LME & global sites stories. Specifically, this position will focus on:
- Strategy of external communications programs, media relationship, draft document for interview, video, and other projects, which includes media interview, technical world, etc.
- Creative new tactics to enhance LME employee team morale, including internal events and activities by LME Leadership Summit, new fiscal year kick-off, roadshow meeting etc., and also leaders note & speech support
- In-house content development and intranet management – including simplifying complex business functional objectives, strategies, performance and thought leadership into clear, succinct, and memorable messaging in written and spoken communications such as internal newsletters, memos, speeches and more
- Collaboration with in-house and external agency creative teams to develop visually-compelling content like videos, podcasts and infographics, as well as internal templates with a consistent visual identity
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams including senior executives, global external communications, events, operations, functional and HR/Admin teams to align and implement internal and executive communications strategy and messaging
Position Requirements:
- Good experience in Public Relationship and brand promotion to industry
- Demonstrate superb written and verbal communications with the ability to write quickly, clearly, and convincingly in both English and Chinese (writing samples will be required)
- Have strong project management skills in multiple priorities and take end-to-end ownership of projects
- Constantly challenge the status quo and be entrepreneurial in pursuing new communications ideas and better ways of storytelling – with a sharp eye for great creativity and details
- Be articulate, confident and tactful in interacting with senior leadership, from presenting a communications plan to internal briefings, and also external cooperation
- Be respectful and effective in communicating across cultures and flexible to accommodate working with teams across different time zones
- Basic understanding of supply chain operations and a good grasp of manufacturing operations would be a plus
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree and a minimum 5 years of experience in a similar communications role
- Excellent written and oral English
- Skillful in Word, PowerPoint tools
- Design, photography, and video-editing skills are a plus
