Description and Requirements

Do you have legal experience supporting security law? Can you provide legal advise and support important projects?

Come and join our team as our new Legal Counsel! You will report to our Global Privacy Program Leader based in the US.

What is waiting for you in this role?

·       Monitor, analyze, and report on global cybersecurity legal, regulatory and policy developments and advise on requirements and standards that may affect Lenovo, our business functions, customer relationships, and supply chain. 

·       Lead and/or support on important projects to design and execute our cybersecurity policies and data governance strategies to meet global legal requirements, industry standards, and customer requirements. 

·       Provide advice and counsel on security incident investigations and response and mitigation workstreams in partnership with Lenovo’s security teams. 

·       Provide advice and counsel on the security terms and controls in customer, supplier, and partner agreements. 

·       Design and execute cybersecurity law education and awareness training and resources for the Legal Department and Lenovo community at large. 

·       You will work closely and direct support a range of stakeholders internally including, but not limited to, other legal department groups; information, product, and physical security teams; product development; marketing and sales or external parties

  

What do we expect from you?

·       At least 5 years (and preferably 7 years) of direct experience in security and/or data protection law, preferably within a global multinational and customer-focused company

·       Law school degree

·       Communication skills with the experience in communicating complex issues to business teams and senior leaders

·       Analytical skills solve a multitude of very complex legal, regulatory, compliance, and strategic problems daily. 

·       Project management skills with the ability to see projects through to completion via a mix of determination, patience, and creativity

·       Licensed to practice law in a European jurisdiction

·       10% travel expected
