Lenovo is currently seeking in-house legal counsel that:
  • Will be responsible for the regional development, delivery and ongoing oversight of import/export compliance processes by understanding and applying relevant and applicable national laws and regulations of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
  • Identifies strategies, develops compliance program tools for training and self-audits, and works with business contacts to ensure compliant processes are implemented and regulatory requirements are met. 
  • Provides ongoing support to ensure compliance processes are maintained and program weaknesses are identified and corrected. 
  • Monitors, interprets and communicates regulatory requirements. 
  • Assists in the management of issues arising from program/process deficiencies and/or government inquiries/audits. 
  • Provides legal support to global trade compliance and trade daily operations teams.
  • Reporting to ED - Government Relations and Global Trade Regulation.

Requirements:
  • JD and 5+ years of relevant experience required. 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. 
  • Knowledge of French is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of customs and export laws and regulations in all EU Member Countries and around all of Europe and the United Kingdom. 
  • Strong knowledge of related import laws, transfer pricing policies, and import and export control laws, policies, and procedures. 
  • Knowledge of US, Middle East, and African import and export control requirements is a plus. 
  • Ability to initiate, lead and manage complex projects with limited supervision required. 
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and teamwork skills required.
