Description and Requirements

JOB DESCRIPTION: MDM Data Analyst responsible for supporting the grooming of Lenovo’s Rest of World (RoW) Customer Master Data Management (MDM) epics and stories in an agile development environment. Works directly with business and associated business analysts to understand core business requirements and ideate high-level solutions. Prepares system-level requirements based upon business requirements and validates the same with stakeholders and the development team. Defines acceptance criteria for test team reference and reviews and validates the completeness of the test cases written in response to them. Maintains an "ownership" mentality over the quality of the work delivered against the epics and stories he/she is assigned. This position requires strong technical, analytical, and communication (verbal and written) skills, natural curiosity, and an inclination toward continuous improvement and learning. As the RoW MDM team resides in Lenovo’s IT Data Platform organization, strong command of SQL is required and knowledge of common data management practices, such as MDM specifically, is preferred. However, preference will be applied to candidates that can demonstrate strong competency as a systems analyst specifically. RESPONSIBILITIES: Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures, and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics, and troubleshoot reported errors and alarms Perform design, implementation, and upgrades of information systems to meet the business and user needs Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience 1-2 years of experience working with information technologies and systems analysis Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills Aptitude toward identifying business needs and translating them into relevant solutions Strong understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with database maintenance and administration Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems Excellent analytical skills
