Description and Requirements

Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo company) is one of the fastest growing and top 3 smartphone providers in the US. We want thinkers, risk-takers and problem solvers who work together to challenge the status quo. Winning and partnering with our large wireless operators in the US is critical for our success. The candidate will improve our brand’s awareness, consideration and passionately drive 360 degrees innovation, yet effectively market and support sales programs. He/she will work very closely with sales and other marketing/product teams to drive sales and brand visibility of our products. This role allows future growth in other areas in Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Trade Marketing and Sales support roles. This position could be based in Chicago, IL or in the NY/NJ area

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the development and execution of 360 marketing plans and programs (Social, digital, PR, In store merchandising, sales reps training and engagement, TV and web placement) to drive demand and sales conversion of Motorola and Lenovo products in the supported Telecom operator channel
  • Develops customer specific annual marketing plans and identifies key milestones
  • Implements key marketing programs in partnership with key operator customers, driving higher Motorola brand presence and sales, improving awareness, consideration and sales conversion metrics.
  • Develops marketing program metrics/tracking measures, reports on progress and makes recommendations for process improvements
  • Ensures that customer marketing needs are clearly identified and delivered against
  • Manages marketing budgets as it relates to customer-specific marketing programs
  • Manages key agency partners on an as-needed basis
  • Works regularly with channel partners to foster relationships, develop co-marketing opportunities and drive Motorola brand through channels
  • Partners closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Product -Management, other Carrier support Teams, Go-To-Market Team (Field Sales, Operations, Finance), Core/Retail Marketing and Marketing Operations teams in order to develop cohesive marketing strategies and implement brand and demand generation tactics
  • Specifically works closely with functional marketing managers to define product launch objectives, requirements and key messages
  • Ensure consistent, repeatable launch practices, processes, and requirements for flawless implementation
  • Works very closely with sales and support marketing teams supporting marketing and sales support activities to exceed unit sales activations, revenue and profit goals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Based in Chicago area or New Jersey/New York
  • Bachelor's Degree​
  • At least 5 years of experience in consumer marketing preferably in technology industry
  • Prior experience in customer-facing role

  • Business oriented and customer driven
  • Leader, team player, pro-active, and problem-solving attitude
  • Previous experience working with carriers, understanding pre-paid, post-paid and dynamics and needs of all sales support channels (retail, b2b, call center, online)
  • Demonstration of key leadership behaviors (including ability to develop and motivate others, build support and inclusion, manage execution, show creativity, drive and initiative, establish trust and respect, and readily adaptable)
  • Ability to manage teams but also execute tactical details
  • Superior strategic, operational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
