Description and Requirements

Purpose

Manage key consumer electronics retailers’ headquarters in Japan, driving sales, market share, and profitability for the PC and peripherals category. Build long-term strategic partnerships with retail HQs and develop and execute comprehensive account strategies including product introduction, promotions, pricing, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Account Management / HQ Negotiation

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers at major retail headquarters (buyers, MDs, marketing teams, etc.)
  • Lead annual and semi-annual commercial negotiations, including pricing, rebates, promotional support, and contract terms
  • Develop mid- to long-term business plans and Joint Business Plans to support category growth

2. Product & Merchandising Strategy

  • Propose product listings, core assortment formation, and SKU rationalization for PCs and peripherals
  • Develop assortment and merchandising strategies based on market trends, competitive analysis, and POS data
  • Lead HQ alignment and rollout planning for new product launches

3. Promotion & Marketing Collaboration

  • Plan and execute promotional activities with retail HQs (flyers, e-commerce, in-store events, campaigns)
  • Coordinate with internal marketing teams on promotional content and messaging
  • Analyze promotion performance and drive improvement actions

4. Sales & Forecast Management

  • Monitor sales performance, profitability, and inventory levels for assigned accounts
  • Improve sales forecasting accuracy and demand planning
  • Identify gaps versus plan and implement corrective actions

5. Internal & External Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Marketing, SCM, Customer Support, Finance, etc.)
  • Cascade strategies and initiatives to field sales and in-store execution teams
  • Resolve issues and drive problem-solving across stakeholders
