Description and Requirements
Role and Responsibilities:
Monitor Data Center Systems:
Oversee servers, network devices, and infrastructure via monitoring tools.
Respond to system alerts and troubleshoot as needed.
Hardware Support:
Perform server installations, rack and stack activities, cabling, and decommissioning.
Assist with preventive maintenance on equipment (e.g., replacing parts, inspecting systems).
Operations & Maintenance:
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data center operations.
Maintain a clean and organized environment in server rooms and workspaces.
Incident Management:
Log incidents and service requests; escalate issues per protocols.
Provide on-site support for technical teams during system outages or maintenance.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate logs of system performance, maintenance schedules, and incidents.
Update asset tracking systems and inventory documentation.
Security Compliance:
Adhere to all physical and data security protocols.
Control access to data center facilities and log visitor entries.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
1–3 years of experience in a data center or IT operations environment.
Knowledge of data center hardware (servers, switches, cabling, etc.).
Familiarity with monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
Ability to work in shifts, including nights and weekends.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift and move equipment (typically up to 50 lbs).
Effective communication skills and teamwork.
