Role & Team Description:

**Position can be remote**

The Android Framework team is responsible for maintaining and extending user facing middleware components in Android. We work closely with Google, chipset vendors, and other teams within Motorola to build and integrate features to support all of Motorola Mobility’s smart phones. Our team contains a diverse group of talent with backgrounds in Android framework, telephony, IMS, RCS and connectivity. Our team provides a great opportunity to both dig into Android internals and learn about all layers of the stack from the inside out, as well as creative opportunities to propose and prototype innovation ideas. We are looking to expand our team with someone who is creative, driven, and above all: passionate about delivering the best end user experience

Scope of Responsibilities:

* Enhancing Android middleware to facilitate features for new Motorola experiences and companion products
* Integrating and reworking Android patches from partners.
* Investigating and fixing defects in framework components
* Ideation and prototyping of new features

Basic Qualifications:

-BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field
-3+ years of Android platform software development experience
-Excellent programming and debugging skills using C/C++/Java -Experience with mobile application or framework development

Preferred Qualifications:
-MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field
-Extensive programming experience in C++ and Java
-Android telephony call flow and IMS protocol
-Experience with Git -Knowledge of Android UI frameworks or other mobile platforms is a plus
-Driven, resourceful and proactive
