Description and Requirements

Lenovo is looking for Pricing Business Consultant to join Pricing COE team to help develop and execute the global pricing strategy for International IDG (Intelligent Device Group) Services. The role will support Pricing COE Lead to continuously optimize the pricing process to service customers, which will result in increased sales and profit for the organization.

We are looking for an innovative individual to increase our business's competitiveness and profitability. In this role, you will be responsible for determining the appropriate pricing for Services offerings based on a variety of factors. This includes conducting market research to learn more about competitor pricing for similar items, reviewing previous sales data and company revenue needs and deciding a market price for a range of products based on their findings and comparing the outcomes of different pricing strategies.

You work closely with the sales, marketing, finance and product development teams. To ensure success as a pricing consultant, you should possess sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods and experience in a similar role. An accomplished pricing analyst is someone who can translate pricing data into actionable profit-enhancing strategies.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Pricing COE Lead to develop pricing strategy across various product lines to position the products based on value and competitive situation.
  • Drive various pricing optimization initiatives agreed with the stakeholders across geographies and within the markets identified
  • Propose optimal methodology for calculating List Price, Price Floor, Price ceiling for various product lines within various market segments in relation to the value. Maintain corporate price list and periodically update appropriately 
  • Identify leakage buckets within Price waterfall and find ways to increase profit
  • Develop Price band analysis and find ways to improve profit
  • Lead the annual Price increase process for the organization. Work with sales, management and product managers to implement the Price changes into the market.
  • Develop reports to track & monitor the pricing projects and associated activities on various product lines and market segments.
  • Develop tools for estimating cost for quotes for new products. Develop a value pricing model and implement it for all new products.
  • Help in transitioning the organization from a cost-plus pricing model to a value pricing model.
  • Support sales in negotiations of terms and conditions on contracts with customers, and channel partners.
  • Support the annual budget process and sales staff on pricing issues as needed.
  • Be a subject matter expert for all things related to Pricing.
  • Perform business analysis, and market analysis, and support managerial decision making.

Position Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience as a pricing analyst in a similar industry.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders in Sales, Marketing and Finance 
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.
  • Ability to dig into the detail, manage complexity and drive decision making
  • Experience working with pricing packages such as PROS and the like
  • Extensive experience in analyzing pricing strategies and forecasting revenue and market share.
  • Experience in collaborating on pricing strategies with sales and marketing departments.
  • Ability to keep abreast of industry trends and develop dynamic pricing tools.
  • Advanced ability to present pricing analysis reports to relevant stakeholders.
