Role and Team Description 

Brazil Core Product Development is a group dedicated to design and create state of the art software products to empower Motorola mobile devices. The team objective is to develop best-­in-­class software systems that make the end users' experiences delightful and solid. In order to do so, the team in Brazil collaborates with all other software groups worldwide on key software development spanning embedded software such as Android framework and applications including Motorola differentiated experiences, cloud Development, quality assurance, and the enhancement of development techniques and tools.

The Software Test Team is responsible for quality assurance of the overall SW throughout the development  lifecycle for Android SW upgrades. The team’s focus is to ensure we continue to delight our customers and consumers by delivering best SW quality, stability and performance by interfacing with SW development teams, managing SW test commitments, and executing to these commitments while leveraging all aspects of SW platforming across the SW lines and products.

The product of this work will board Motorola smartphones worldwide, including the iconic Moto G device family, reaching millions of customers.

This position is based in the Motorola Jaguariúna-SP site.

Scope of Responsibilities 

  • The primary responsibilities of the QA Architecture Tech Lead are: 
  • Discuss and define testing requirements and schedules with stakeholders
  • Coordinate the creation of test plans, test cases and design strategy to provide the optimal balance between test coverage and testing effort
  • Constantly evolve testing procedure to enhance quality, identify testing gaps and retro feed testing artifacts based on escaped defects
  • Continuously look for testing automation opportunities. Drive team to move tests to automated environments. Foster and Coordinate the development of innovative automation strategies and tools
  • Define and enhance management and communication procedure with external team to deploy high-quality products on time
  • Communicate status to stakeholders on a regular basis

Basic Qualifications 

  • B.S./M.S in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar area
  • Experience in coordination of multiple projects with internal and external team members (5-Year experience)
  • Ability to negotiate tasks, priorities, schedule with stakeholders
  • Understand concepts of testing lifecycle and manual testing X automation
  • Understanding of project management disciplines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to develop manual test cases in order to provide guidance for the team
  • Knowledge about Test Cases Database and Defect Management Tools
  • Good knowledge on Agile frameworks such as Scrum/Kanban
  • Strong problem solving skills as well as ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to development & test teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and sharing are key
  • Be self-directed, result oriented and able to quickly adapt to changes

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with mobile device software development & testing (Android platform)
  • Experience working in a demanding work environment and accelerated product life cycle
  • Ability to adapt to changes in priorities and market focus
