Description and Requirements

The selected candidate will join Motorola Mobility's RF/Modem Systems team in our downtown Chicago offices in the Merchandise Mart (at the heart of a growing tech hub). This team has responsibility for creating the next generation RF architecture for mobile device products. The team is responsible for all aspects from requirements identification, architecture and systems definition, component and supplier selection, performance simulation, proof of concept, and supporting development teams in commercializing these designs. The team develops and oversees SW tools for tracking RF requirements globally. The team collaborates closely with antenna engineering, go-to-market, customer technical account management, product management, program management, software integration, suppliers and other groups, who may be co-located in the Chicago office or work globally as part of Lenovo, Motorola's global parent company. Working in a small team under guidance of experienced RF systems engineers, the selected candidate will:

 * Identify next generation modem/RF device feature requirements, including new 5G technology 
 * Leverage leading wireless chipset and component supplier technologies 
 * Invent and develop new RF architectures to meet the ever-growing challenges in the smartphone industry 
 * Simulate, build and measure prototypes to prove new concepts 
 * Deliver RF block diagrams and component bill-of-material to product teams 
 * Collaborate with product development, software integration and supplier commodity management teams in Chicago or worldwide 
-Develop and manage SW tools for global RF feature requirements tracking Position 

 Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering with concentration in the areas of RF, wireless and systems analysis 
 * Knowledgeable in RF Front End circuits such as transmitters, receivers, duplex/diplex filters and related RF circuits/systems 
 * Proficiency with ADS, Momentum and MATLAB simulation tools 
 * Knowledgeable in 3GPP RAN4 standards, including 5G 
 * Understanding of basic lab and RF measurement techniques, including hand-prototyping 
 * Proficiency with object oriented or object based programming languages and databases
