Description and Requirements

Come and join our biggest research & development lab in Europe that is going to significantly grow during this year!

Lenovo Infrastructure Group is currently seeking a senior database engineer and administrator for our Lenovo cloud platform. For this role you will be responsible for architecture, detailed design and implementation of all aspects of the data layer of the platform including relational databases, NoSQL databases, big data platform and data analytics functions of the platform.

This is a software development position in a highly collaborative environment working directly with Development, QA, Operations and Product Management teams across geographies.

Apply if you have:

* B.S./M.S in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with programming skills/experience) or Computer Science (with hardware skills/experience) or equivalent practical experience.
* Experience architecting, implementing, deploying, optimizing, and operating relational databases:
* PostgreSQL or AWS Aurora are highly desirable
* Experience architecting, implementing, deploying, optimizing, and operating NoSQL databases: Cassandra or ScyllaDB are highly desirable
* Experience working with and creating data architectures
* Experience with performance and scalability optimizations, implementing ETL logic, backup, restore and other database related operations processes
* Linux administration and/or development experience
* Excellent communications skills - able to work with teams across cultures fostering trust and collaboration
* Excellent English speaking and writing skills

Preferred skills:
* Experience with cloud containerization environments: Docker, Kubernetes
* Experience architecting, implementing, deploying, optimizing, and operating distributed frameworks: Apache Spark, Storm, Kafka, Hadoop
* Experience with Redis, Neo4j or MongoDB
* Experience with Elasticsearch and ELK solution stack
* Experience with data visualization tools
* CI/CD experience including use of Git, Gitlab and Jenkins or other similar CI/CD tools and platforms
* Previous experience deploying cloud services
* Understanding of Database Security
