Description and Requirements

The Senior manager of brand governance plays a foundational role on the Lenovo Brand team as we seek to lead and inspire the company to deliver on our promise of smarter technology for all. The team has enterprise-wide scope and works closely with the senior executive team, business units and geos, and functional areas to deploy our brand.

The Sr. Manager of Brand Governance supports brand strategy, visual identity management, and brand architecture through a complete articulation of guidelines and governance process - with the goal of achieving strategic alignment and consistency with the Lenovo brand.

Job Description

  • Set the blueprint for Lenovo’s governance and brand management systems
  • Assess current and future needs regarding the development of brand identity standards
  • Work closely with brand design team to develop brand standards and toolkits
  • Guide the organization with clearly documented governance processes
  • Monitor, review and respond to Governance related requests
  • Work collaboratively with team members to produce governance tools, e. g. dashboards/reports and training to drive adherence and meet standards effectively
  • Build and develop relationships with key internal stakeholders in geo, BU, and functional teams
  • Provide management direction to one governance specialist

The person will bring with them:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience making brand-related decisions in a complex organization or in a strategic capacity in a branding/brand identity agency.
  • Demonstrated experience developing brand or marketing guidelines and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into branding strategy and to solve business problems creatively
  • Experience working with creative teams
  • Team leadership or management experience
  • Judgment on when flexibility is called for versus rigid standards
  • Strong communication, inter-personal and people skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preferred experience: comfortable leading brand architecture and naming projects internally and in partnership with agencies
  • Bachelors’ degree required
