Description and Requirements

Target Start Date is Summer 2022.

What you'll do: The position is a Hardware Development Engineer position in the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), based in Morrisville, North Carolina. This is an exciting role in the ThinkSystem Server Development organization that has a strong focus to be the #1 trusted IT Partner in the Datacenter market. Opportunities on the team include developing innovative and complex server designs to meet customer and business needs. These organic designs provide exposure to the latest technologies from Lenovo and its development partners to meet market demands.

The role also entails solving unique client challenges through the custom development of solutions and direct engagement with customers. The candidate will become an integral and active member of a development team that is highly motivated to engage, understand and solve the technical challenges of today and shape the server designs of tomorrow.

Required skills:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
* 1+ years of experience in Linux/Windows Operating systems
* 1+ years of experience in shell scripting (BASH/Perl/Python and Windows Power Shell)
* Fluency in English

Preferred skills:
* Exposure to EDA schematic design tools for PCB schematic creation and physical design activity
* Ability to work in a team environment and passionate about learning new technologies and skills
* Collaboration experience on projects across a global development organization
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for a variety of tasks, including customer engagements, defect investigation, and executive updates
