Description and Requirements

The Services Technology Strategy Manager will help to shape the technology strategy for global service offerings. This includes assisting with technology roadmap creation and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and alliance partners.

This is an exciting role in the newly created Services Solutions Group (SSG) for someone that is passionate about technology, customer experience and creating innovative service offerings that address customer needs. SSG spans across Industry Solutions, Commercial IoT and Intelligent Devices Group (IDG). You will seat in IDG, reporting to the Services Technology & Alliances Director, and will work across different Lenovo groups.

You will be a resource for the Services Product Development & Marketing organization, including product development, marketing, delivery, and geo sales teams. With key Alliance Partners, the candidate will help drive global and local partnerships by identifying and aligning goals.
 

We are looking for a well-rounded candidate that can handle ambiguity and thrive in a fast pace environment. The candidate needs to be able to create trustworthy relationships with relevant stakeholders and seek clarity/alignment on very complex topics. You will need to drive internal/external analysis, be able to identify opportunities and create a plan to address/drive them in a collaborative manner.

This person should be a technology expert and no stranger to emerging technologies. Experience in the Managed Services realm is a plus.  

The candidate should be comfortable conducting global business activities, across different cultures, and have experience leading cross functional groups toward a common goal.


Position Responsibilities / What you will do:

  • Assist in the creation of a strategy for how technology will be utilized in new service offers.
  • Align internal services initiatives and help shape future strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for consolidation of initiatives and service offer improvement.
  • Work closely with other development leaders within Lenovo (Hardware, Services, Security, etc.) to align strategies and ensure cohesive product portfolio.
  • Work closely with geographies and other Services organizations worldwide to understand priorities & turn these into actionable items / a strategy that drives results.
  • Assist marketing staff to create clear customer value proposition content.
  • Build strategic relationships with alliance partners to promote strong partnership.
  • Help to create the strategy for aligning with alliance partners to drive Lenovo Services priorities & interests.
  • Work closely with other alliance partner leaders within Lenovo (Hardware, Software, etc) to align visions and approach with alliance partners.
  • Manage projects jointly with alliance partners, hardware team, software team, solutions teams, and the commercial strategy team to drive Services revenue & results.
  • Represent Lenovo Services interests in meetings with alliance partners & internal groups outside services.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, computer science or related field.
  • 7+ years of Information Technology business experience in either services strategy or product management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Analytical & Critical Thinking skills, ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.
  • Good organization and project/program management skills.
  • High level of communication & presentation skills.
  • Collaborative approach to meeting business objectives and ability to build trustworthy relationships and influence at all levels of matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in highly dynamic / fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible approach to competing priorities and be able to handle ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to work/learn independently and deliver results.
  • Experience working with global teams and conducting business internationally. Global mindset and demonstrated ability to work with - and across - diverse cultures.
  • Strong bias toward action and performance; proven success in delivering against expectations and objectives.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Post graduate degree in computer science or related field.
  • Business & financial acumen.
  • Experience in IT Managed Services and/or SaaS business.
  • Business exposure to some of these domains: Cyber Security, IT Infrastructure Operations and Hybrid Cloud computing services.
  • Experience driving gap/market analysis, identifying trends and articulating opportunities for improvement.
  • Alliance (Partner/Channel) experience.
  • Track record delivering in complex environments driving cross collaboration.
  • Be comfortable running workshops/brainstorming sessions (in person / virtually).
  • Executive briefing experience / Executive Presence
  • Track record of creating technology service offerings and/or services strategy, particularly around managed services.
