Description and Requirements

Lenovo is seeking a Product & Portfolio Manager to drive software requirements in support of the worldwide commercial portfolio.

The primary responsibilities of this individual would be:

  • Set overall Global portfolio strategy for Commercial SW Portfolio.
  • Align with Key Stakeholders on executing and delivering Commercial SW Strategy Cross Product-groups.
  • Represent Commercial SW Requirements in Cross Product Groups’ Business. Management Systems (BMS) and Decision checkpoints.

Key Activities Include:

  • Help drive Commercial SW innovation leadership by identifying new technologies, software offerings, partnerships, and innovations that delight our business customers.
  • Attend Supporting Product Groups’ BMS to represent and drive Commercial SW Strategy and Execution.
  • Engage with Partners on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis. Create, Drive, and Close key Software initiatives with our ecosystem Partners (Intel, AMD, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Google, etc.)
  • Individual must look out 2-3 years and identify key technology intercepts to maintain Commercial leadership.
  • Meet with customers on a regular basis to understand commercial customer pain-points and work with extended teams to offer appropriate solutions.
  • Work closely and collaborate with Software Development and Research &Technology (R&T) teams to provide longer term prioritization and guidance for both existing and new offerings.
  • Understand competitive offerings and recommend appropriate course of actions.
  • Meet with analysts/customers/internal sales teams and present longer term outlook/trends in the IT space.
  • Work very closely with Product Marketing, Product Operation and Business Operation teams to align Software Strategy.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to work in a cross functional environment across multiple time zones. The ideal candidate must also have a very good technical background and ability to work with partners.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years in product and/or portfolio management experience.
  • Ability to successfully work across regions, time zones and functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as function as an integral part of a team.
