The Industry Solutions (ISU) Services and Delivery team believes that the world has not yet realized the potential value of Smart Buildings, Retail, Education, and Manufacturing at scale, and sees a great opportunity for Lenovo to seize a leadership position in the markets we play in. Our vision is to make the world work better with smarter solutions, and our mission is to enable and lead the global adoption of Lenovo’s Industry Solutions.

The Industry Solutions Services team has an opportunity for a Solutions Engineer. This role, reporting to the Services and Delivery Director, will be our in-house Technical expert for Industry Solutions offered by Lenovo globally.  The candidate should have experience working with basic and complex IoT and IT solutions across many different business verticals (Smart Buildings, Retail, and Education. Manufacturing is a plus), exemplary work ethics, and excellent people skills. 


  • Learn and understand from a technical point of view and in detail how each of ISU and Tower 3 Lenovo's solutions works
  • Assess and analyze solutions used by the company for resell
  • Provide support for pre-deployments and deployments during site assessments and installations
  • Respond to customer inquiries, escalations, assist in troubleshooting and resolving challenges
  • Train customers on solutions, advising them on best practices for using applications and hardware
  • Train third party vendors responsible for the successful deployment and service of solutions
  • Assist in the creation and management of training programs
  • Understand, manage and drive basic Services KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for our customer success program
  • Interact with other ISU (Industry Solutions Unit) functions to align solution capacities and customer needs
  • Participate in customer meetings to drive solution needs

Basic Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field is preferred
  • Industry-specific certification in relevant computer languages or software may be required
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a customer-focused position involving technical knowledge of a company's products and services
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
  • Comfortable working in and assisting others through company help desk software, such as ServiceNow in addition to other remote access desktop programs
  • Experience working with IT and IoT Solutions; hardware and software
  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex problems to customers and stakeholders of all levels, across multiple functions
  • A strong bias toward action and performance; proven success in delivering against expectations and objectives, and ability to define a path forward in an ambiguous entrepreneurial environment
