Description and Requirements

The successful candidate will manage and drive commercial litigation cases from complaint to conclusion, collaborating with internal and outside counsel, specific subject matter experts, and business stakeholders. Other desirable experience includes developing and managing a preferred counsel program, advising on litigation strategy, risk analysis, determining and managing case budgets, product safety and regulatory experience, and developing/evaluating settlement proposals. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to thrive in a large, global environment while coordinating the efforts of internal paralegals and an outside counsel network, all within limited budgets. Strong communication and presentation skills will be necessary to explain complex legal matters to business leaders in a manner that is readily understandable in order to ensure well-informed business decisions.

Position Requirements:

  • J.D. Degree with strong academic credentials
  • Current bar membership in the US
  • A minimum of 10 years of legal experience with at least 5 years of law firm experience preferred
  • Extensive experience leading key aspects of commercial, privacy, and antitrust litigation in the US, including product liability and class/mass action litigation experience
  • Extensive experience managing consumer litigation claims
  • Experience with employment, bankruptcy, environmental, compliance, and risk management and insurance litigation  
  • Experience leading litigation tasks, discovery management/collection, and working effectively with other attorneys and paralegals
  • Pre-trial/disposition, mediation, and motion practice experience are requirements
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple matters simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with international commercial litigation and arbitration preferred
  • Demonstrated business acumen, strong analytical skills, and the ability to grasp important business issues and legal issues facing the company
  • Experience with affirmative recovery programs preferred
  • Trial experience is preferred
