Description and Requirements

The Infrastructure Services Group (ISG) provides servers and storage equipment to enterprises across the globe. Within ISG, the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Business Unit services the needs of most of the largest Cloud Service Providers in the world, developing close partnerships and creating interconnected supply chains.  Lenovo has an opening for a Master Planning Specialist to support the demand planning requirements for several high profile CSP customers.

The primary job duties of the Master Planning Specialist include:

  • Partnering with Sales, the CSP Business Unit, and end customers as required to create a demand plan as part of the Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Provide weekly updates to the demand plan based on customer feedback
  • As needed, create demand plans for customer-controlled components to provide guidance to the Supply Management team to meet target weeks of supply
  • Work with the Lifecycle Management team and the CSP Business Unit to manage End of Life and New Product Introduction for assigned customers. Adjust demand plans to minimize component liability and partner with the team to disposition those liabilities that cannot be avoided.
  • Collaborate with the Worldwide Inventory Management team to develop month-end and quarterly inventory projections for assigned customers based on expected consumption and inbound supply
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses on demand and inventory changes to understand root causes of changes as well as trends

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5-7 years experience in a Demand Planning role, supporting products in each stage of the lifecycle (launch, mass production, end of life). Strong preference for experience in high-tech/enterprise computing environments.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning systems for demand planning
  • Deep analytical skills: able to effectively manage large datasets and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects/programs to drive business improvement
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Adept at using BI visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, QLIK, Tableau)
  • Ability to code (VBA, SQL, Python)
  • Experience using Blue Yonder demand planning system
