Description and Requirements

The Sr. Public Sector Contracts Manager works independently to provide pre-award guidance and analysis of Lenovo US Government & Education Contracts. The Contract Manager also interprets contracts (post-award) and assists with problem solving. The Contract Manager must have a comprehensive understanding of government contracting rules, processes, and procedures. The Contract Manager is a key sales partner. The Contract Manager serves as the pre-award Point of Contact and general public sector contracting Subject Matter Expert.

Responsibilities & Duties:
• Conducts thorough review of public sector solicitations, provides guidance and collaborates with sales, pricing, proposals, and all other relevant stakeholders to ensure proper risk mitigation for government contract proposals in assigned territory.
• Negotiates terms and conditions as appropriate, develops mitigating strategies for non-negotiable risk, and assists with the development of the post-award Contract Administration Plan.
• Coordinates approval of non-standard contractual terms and conditions as necessary.
• Reviews and respond to correspondence from customers and internal stakeholders concerning contracts (ranging from simple to complex inquiries).
• Researches and analyzes governing laws and regulations in connection with contracts & proposals.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.

Position Requirements:

Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Advanced degree (JD, MBA strongly preferred)
• Contract Management Certification preferred by not required.

Qualification and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of contract management experience, with at least 2 in US Public Sector, preferably in-house with a technology company.
• Experience with hardware contracts, IP licensing, and technology-adjacent service agreements.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable commercial business and legal principles and ability to work on diverse contractual issues simultaneously from start to finish.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial "start-up" environment.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-demand environment.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Comfort working independently but possessing sound judgment leading to appropriate issue escalation.
• Experience with process improvement.
• Comfortable with the ambiguity may exist within highly-matrixed organizations.
• Experience creating and delivering training content to internal and external teams on contract requirements/administration.
• Some travel required, (less than 30% of total work time).
