The Role:
The Events Specialist will plan and execute end to end internal / external events to ensure cohesive results for Solutions and Services Group (SSG) image and brand identity at events. Candidates should have experience in strategic event planning and project management on a global level. This role will be expected to manage programs, help define continuous improvement processes, build consensus and a team environment that can overcome any obstacle.
The role will be based in the United States (Raleigh/Durham, NC area preferred), and will collaborate closely with SSG events team and marketing teams around the world.
Specifically, the Role will:
- Serve as a contact for SSG events. These events include large industry events (like the Consumer Electronics Show), Lenovo-owned events, and smaller industry and vertical events.
- Develop and implement event strategies to achieve goals and objectives
- Create marketing communications plan (social, email, etc.) to support events
- Collaborate with cross-functional, team members and agencies to manage global events
- Manage a budget for event spending with the agency and in-house
- Monitor marketplace conditions, competitive information and maintain a high level of expertise within the event marketing space
- Develop plans to capture leads at events as well as nurturing leads after the event
- Manage weekly updates, including event pre- and post-communications for key events
- Track and monitor event-generated revenue and continuously optimize event performance and refinement
- Manage processes and alliance partnership relationships
- Work cross-functionally to develop presentation content and supporting collateral for various events

- Be FLEXIBLE: Role will occasionally require some travel and non-standard meeting times
- Be GLOBAL: Be respectful and effective in communicating across cultures, and flexible in accommodating teams across different time zones
- Be ACCOUNTABLE: Develop, measure and report on metrics that inform strategy and track performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or another related field required
- 3+ years’ experience planning and implementing events
- 1-2 years marketing communications experience
- Must be able to travel approx. 20% - 40%
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Outook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to meet strict deadlines
- Experience working in an account management role at a media/creative agency (or overseeing an agency relationship from client side)
- Strong project/budget management skills
- Team player, willing to assist on tasks small or large
- Passion for executing programs of the highest quality possible
- Strong interpersonal abilities to work with all marketing disciplines and teams as well as external vendors

This role offers the flexibility to be home-based anywhere in the U.S. with preference for the Eastern or Central time zones. If you're near our Chicago or Raleigh offices, we follow a friendly hybrid model with three days a week in the office—great for collaboration and connection!
The base salary range budgeted for this position is $95,000 to $115,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com.
