About Our Team
Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is currently seeking a dynamic experienced System Lead with knowledge of multiple generations of Intel x86 Architecture and who can work directly with Lenovo’s Cloud Service Provider (CSP) customers, partners, internal engineering and manufacture team. The selected candidate will leverage a formidable technical competency, creativity, and a "drive for results" attitude to construct innovative value for our customers.

Location: This position is based at Lenovo's North America Headquarters in Morrisville, NC. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What You'll Do

• Stay current on Intel x86, AMD, Nvidia, FPGA, and ARM based technology roadmaps and understand how this technology can drive future datacenter architecture for industry and worldwide top public cloud customers
• Work closely with customer engineering teams and Lenovo sales and marketing teams to extract customer requirements
• Create specifications and collateral that define the next generation CSP platforms
• Lead CSP development team to work out the design/product customization proposals with
--Product and system Spec
--System architecture and Placement
--Demonstrate Lenovo design and engineering Capability
--Game plan and Development strategy to win customer and business
• Lead engagement with suppliers and partners of hardware building blocks such as storage devices, network controllers, FPGAs, and other emerging technology hardware devices
• As technical lead to work with internal and external engineering team to complete competitive product design and lead the debug activities from schedule/cost/design quality/reliability point of view
• Hands on to solve technical issues within Lenovo and from customer side
• Own end-to-end product delivery from pre-concept to launch of platforms


Basic Qualifications
• Experience in direct customer engagements is required and hands on with the latest technology
• Undergraduate BSEE or BSCE degree required
• Must have 10 years or more work experience in server and hardware design and development
• Technical Skills Ability to understand customer requirements; interpret these requirements and convert them into a competitive HyperScale platform portfolio
• Deep knowledge of X86 Intel server architecture
• Cross discipline understanding of engineering that cover Thermal, Mechanical, Power, Power Management, and TCO of the Datacenter
• Proficiency with Linux server operating systems

Preferred Qualifications
• A Masters degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering is a plus
• Knowledge of design elements of OCP (Open Compute Project) based HW is a plus
• Cloud experience a plus
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation
• Ability to interface with Lenovo and customer executives
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead teams and have the autonomy to make decisions
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work effectively cross-culturally across teams in the US and Asia
