Description and Requirements

Business Background

  • Position will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering in Lenovo’s Strategic Engineering Teamand emerging business unit
  • Lenovo’s Emerging Business teams are focused on finding and developing Lenovo’s next Billiion (yes ‘B’ as in Billion) dollar business: OEM, Smart Collaboration, AR/VR, Edge Computing...
  • Team has a history of success starting with new business opportunities and launching those businesses into the Lenovo business performance zone
  • The emerging business team operates differently than most parts of Lenovo - a very Entrepreneurial and non BAU (business as usual) environment
  • Building a team with a unique emphasis and focus on supporting new and emerging business.
  • Rather than using the same old tried and true Lenovo methods the emerging business team is about innovation and either using existing systems in new and creative ways or partnering with BTIT and global strategic projects team to develop the next generation of system capabilities for use in Lenovo’s business and engineering processes
  • Processes are less mature and there is an opportunity and expectation to contribute to new ways of working
  • Change is the norm, as new business opportunities and needs are identified and become the next opportunity for Lenovo to “break out” into new business markets
  • The emerging business team focuses on combining hardware, software and services from both internal Lenovo teams and external (3rd Party Offering) partners to provide holistic solutions to customers seeking one stop shopping to solve their business needs.

Position Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 3-5 years or more of Quality, Compliance, or Product Development (Engineering) Experience
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills in English
  • Working knowledge of business matters, finance, planning, forecasting and personnel in order to manage team staff and business issues.

Position Preferred Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken language skills in Chinese
  • Experience working and communicating in global teams
  • Agile and lean startup program and product development experience
  • Strong leadership, executive presentation, and teambuilding skills

Roles & Responsibilities

  • EC and Security Coordinator (Product Cybersecurity)
  • Work in windchill managing ECs/PCRs – need to have/develop system expertise
  • Manage the tracking and paperwork for the Product Security Office (PSO) for solutions
  • Help generate Lenovo specification documents where needed
  • Part Number Enablement/Creation – become systems expert on processes and systems involved in this area (supply chain, engineering, compliance, finance, marketing…)
  • Work with OPS/Finance teams on product structure
  • Work with BTIT teams as necessary to develop/validate new systems capabilities
  • Serve as an advocate and mentor to solution delivery teams (offering delivery teams) for processes associated with part number creation and management
  • Interface with, build relationships, and facilitate a conduit to other teams located in CN to NA engineering and product development teams
