What You’ll Do: 

At Lenovo, Technical Product Manager is responsible for developing the next generation cloud solutions leveraging core and partner products and platforms.  We deliver end to end hybrid solutions for IT infrastructures with a focus on Nutanix/VMware/Microsoft Azure Stack and technology integration for our customers.  We architect, develop, test, and document the complete solution stack, including converged and hyper-converged infrastructures.

In this role, the Technical Product Manager will remain focused on technical aspects of delivering platforms and solutions building on the Lenovo hyperconverged platforms. As a Technical Product Manager, you will have a deep understanding of how to bring products into the market in terms of development. You are responsible for translating the product roadmap into actionable steps for the product to be built. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and developers. You will leverage your strong technical know-how to facilitate communication between product management and engineering.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product management to ensure product requirements are clearly understood and met by engineering
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior engineers on design/creation/positioning for highly available and scalable products
  • Use Lean Software Development processes such as Agile, Scrum and Kanban
  • Author strategy docs, white papers, market research and vision documents along with user stories for current and future products
  • Present strategic product communications across multiple stakeholders and organizations
  • Manage the entire product life cycle, prototyping, and testing new features and changes to our product and processes
  • Represent customers by understanding their business needs and product requirements 
  • Foster collaboration with product designers, engineers, quality assurance, and marketing to explore, prioritize, and launch solutions
  • Work with the development team to ensure that product requirements are understood and built accordingly
  • Explore competitors’ products and come up with new ways to improve the company’s products
  • Translate product’s strategy into detailed technical requirements for prototype construction and final product development
  • Recommend the scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and appraising adjustments

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Strong technical skills in IT, datacenter, edge computing systems, Cloud, compute, storage, networking, and security
  • Experience defining long-term product strategy and vision
  • Strong technical acumen with a history of building/delivering enterprise products
  • Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional specifications, coordinating efforts to scope and scheduling and deploying new feature sets
  • Experience in writing product and customer requirements and using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize decision-making.
  • Deep knowledge of the product lifecycle -- introduction, growth, maturity, and decline -- and understanding how it affects development adjustments
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions to both internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrated track record managing successful projects from feature definition to project deployment
  • Ability to discuss with customer experts in their field at all levels
  • Ability to solve customers’ problems with innovative solutions
  • Holistic understanding of product strategy and product marketing
  • Ability to set priorities and resolve issues in initial stages
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Able to explain features to customers with technical details 
  • Understand industry flow and trends 
  • Master the functionalities, benefits, and capabilities of the current products 
  • Advanced education level (Masters or MBA) or equivalent experience
  • Agile certification or knowledge
  • 5+ years of experience in product management
  • 4+ years of development experience
