Description and Requirements

Do you love selling complex IT solutions? Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Technical Sales Consultant to join our Channel Business in the United Kingdom?

As a Lenovo Technical Architect in Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group you will collaborate with others in promoting Lenovo ISG solutions and products. Being the “brains behind the operation” you will employ your interpersonal skills with CTOs, IT decision makers, Lenovo pre-sales and sales teams, end customers, with Lenovo partners and ISVs to bring value to our customers. Your objectives will be in the development of Lenovo’s data center opportunities through the sales cycle, from understanding customer business and technical requirements, building the solution architecture and bringing the opportunity up to a close by demonstrating customer value. You will report to our UKI Solutions Sales Manager based in the UK.

You will be collaborating with our data center partners, preparing RFI and RFP responses, presenting solutions and carrying out proofs of concept.

This role covers the Northern region, please apply if you are based in the North of England or Scotland.


This job role includes:

• Defining and identifying IT Data Centre and Storage projects in the coming quarters by acting as a trusted advisor to the allocated customer set and aligned Lenovo seller(s)

• Helping develop a future pipeline of new Server, Software Defined Data Centre and/or Storage infrastructure business within aligned territories

• Growing and maintaining customer relationships with technical communities within customers and partners up to CTO level.

• Keeping customers up to date with new technologies and innovations relevant to their industry

• Have the ability to produce configurations across multiple  solutions working with the wider specialist product and technical community, the sales teams and business partners as appropriate, to support winning the business

• Gather information to develop an accurate understanding of customer technology infrastructure

• Proactively support the account teams with product advice, presentations, proposal support


Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:

• Ideally from an Enterprise Server Vendor, Distributor or Partner environment having held previous technical pre-sales positions
• Significant experience of working with end user customers in the delivery of Data Centre solutions
• Thorough understanding of architecture, design, and implementation of modern IT systems and cloud infrastructures
• Demonstrate a broad understanding of trends & technologies for storage and software defined storage solutions
• Able to create and present technical solutions to senior level clients within the customer and clearly articulate the technical value proposition to the customer
• Commercial awareness of the local Competitive Market, business partner objectives and the customer industry environment, preferably in the storage market/industry
• Able to develop SAN/NAS/Object Storage storage architectures dependent on the application or workload requirements
• Willing to travel to customer sites within the United Kingdom
•  Demonstrable experience in any of the following infrastructure technologies: Enterprise Storage, including Software defined Storage (e.g., Pure, EMC, NetApp), Vmware Virtualization (ESXi, vCloud Director, vRealize, vSAN), Network attached Storage / File Storage (e.g. NetApp, EMC), Flash Storage (e.g. Pure Storage, Tintri), Software defined Storage (e.g. Cloudian, Nexenta), Storage virtualization (e.g. DataCore), Backup to disk / Backup to tape environments
