Description and Requirements

The Telco Customer Solution Architect (CSA) is a senior technical pre-sales position in the Global Account

Key Objective is to influence and position Lenovo with the key technical stakeholders at the customer in the German and European technical divisions that are responsible to design, plan, build and operate the TDG and DTEU Telco and respective hybrid private cloud infrastructures

* The CSA understands the technical strategy, evolution, roadmap and projects of the customers technical network, services & operations to be able to engage early in the process of architecting and planning respective solutions based on Lenovo products, services & solutions
* The position is a hybrid technical business development, pre-sales, technical advisory and architect role and has a strong relationship as well as technical focus thereby creating preference and closure to sell the Lenovo‘s wider portfolio
* The CSA demonstrates profound experience and a good technical as well as techno-commercial understanding of the critical telco solutions, services, function virtualization and hybrid cloud technologies and architectures like NFV which are are critical to build the next generation server based telecom platforms Expected Capabilities
* Build and maintain relationships to key customer technical and decision making stakeholders
* Work across customer ‚factories‘ (NT & IT)
* Propose and architect value adding solutions to address key customer needs with the objective to sell Lenovo platform solutions
* Convert concepts and portfolio into sellable products and solutions (HW, SW, Services)
* Understand critical TCO and business case drivers addressing the customers financial KPIs and budget constraints
* Self-motivate and work across all areas of technology, close knowledge gaps through self-learning and stakeholder interaction on a fast learning curve
* Position ‚IT‘ solutions in traditional vertical Telco network domains to achieve expected and proven efficiencies and advantages

* Build a Lenovo leadership position in all Telco DC IT domains
* Shape a customer requirement based portfolio view to secure a winning customer fit and respective propositions • Be perceived as an expert in the field and influencer
* Understand the customers business and value propositions from a technology and TCO implementation angle
* Orchestrate the technical customer engagement
* Translate solutions into offerings for sales
* Advise and propose customer projects
* Ability to prioritize what matters most
* Become a key contributor to the account, convince the customer of Lenovo‘s value propositions and Leadership in specified areas
* Build and lead cross functional and cross organizational international teams and to drive closure
* Make winning technology and architecture choices
* Develop winning, competitive and realizable concepts that are deliverable with an economy attached
* Work with stakeholders from Group Technology & Innovation across all service and and operational teams down to planning and implementation
* Understand relevant HW and SW stacks from FW to virtualization and orchestration layer
* Have a good understanding of typical workloads and/or VNFs to be able to build max. efficiency solutions
* Understand state of the art DC and network architectures and respective economics
* Understand and practice DevOps, CICD pipelines and agile methods
* Familiarity with key technology areas in both NT and IT to a sufficient level of detail
* Evangelize Lenovo technology as well as operational and efficiency benefits
* Understand end customer demands and needs

You'll report to Managing Director for Global Account Sales.

Expected Experience and Qualifications

* >15 years of Telco and DC IT experience in a Telco, Telco Supplier or Telco facing system integrator
* Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent technical university degree from a Tier 1 university. Demonstrated equivalent experience and proficiency will also be considered
* Fluent in German and English both in demanding and defining technical as well as relationship conversations
* Senior technical or techno-commercial leader
* MBA or comparable economics degree is a plus
* Experience in defining, planning, winning and executing larger infrastructure projects
