Description and Requirements

We are excited to hire a Spring 2024 Co-Op intern to join Lenovo's Infrastructure Systems Group (ISG). The Infrastructure Systems Group is responsible for server design development at Lenovo. This role will be based onsite out of our Morrisville, NC location. (8001 Development Drive)

This position requires a Mechanical engineer with a specialty in designing and testing thermal solutions for cooling electronic equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside Lenovo engineers and helping conduct thermal testing
  • Measuring overall system/server air flow & impedance
  • Evaluation of system fans from different vendors
  • Evaluation of heatsinks from different vendors
  • Running stress on components like CPUs, GPUs, DIMMs etc., and monitoring their temperature

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Must be able to work onsite 40 hrs a week in a lab setting
