Description and Requirements

The Product & Business function is an integral part of the UK&I region and pivotal in ensuring the success of our profit and revenue contribution to our overall business. The Commercial 4P Manager will be responsible for our Lenovo client devices and partner with the Commercial sales managers and teams to drive initiatives to maximize mix, margin and the overall commercial product portfolio.

Roles & Responsibilities

Business Management & Planning

  • Weekly analysis of sales out and stock performance
  • Weekly analysis of sell-in performance vs. forecast/quarterly plan
  • Identification, implementation and management of channel pricing, bid pricing, and promotional activities
  • Identify & implement initiatives to maximize mix, margin and overall product contribution to the portfolio & business
  • Ensure accurate forecasting for relevant products; co-owner (with Sales) for country's forecast
  • Support the quarterly EMEA planning cycle process
  • Daily management of sales out tracks
  • Alignment with local sales teams, including priorities for weekly sales focus and activities
  • Ownership of weeks of inventory and aged inventory ensuring stock and aged levels are in line with company targets
  • Management of weekly P&L forecast and week on week detailed bridge

Market Understanding & Customer Connect

  • Weekly market share, price point, and activity analysis
  • Competitor activity analysis
  • Determine customer needs through participation in Sales & Customer meetings. Recommend and position appropriate product to customers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with distributors and selected business partners
  • Identify opportunity to partner with alliances to grow business

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Own the designated product portfolio end-to-end; from market introduction through to EOL.
  • Portfolio management including product offerings, price setting, inventory management (working with Sales), promotions and spiffs
  • Effectively manage Product Transitions with a view to maximizing revenue & profit
  • Effectively differentiate Lenovo offerings from competitive alternatives and create distinct customer preference for Lenovo offerings. Know when to bring elements of competitors' offerings or products into the equation to create the highest yielding deal for the customer and Lenovo

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years product and/or business management experience
  • Strong & demonstrable commercial/customer understanding; extremely commercially astute
  • Strong understanding of channel management or channel-based sales models
  • Experience with technology products, ideally from IT industry
  • Strong influencer: able to convince a sales team
  • Confident presenter: able to present ideas/strategies/products in a clear, concise, and convincing manner.
  • Good networking skills; facility in communicating across the company matrix
  • Experience of customers/channel partners – confident to present & engage with
  • Good analytical approach: be able to quickly draw conclusions from company data or market research.
  • Degree level or equivalent education in a marketing, or business discipline
  • Comfortable with financial management and P&Ls
