Description and Requirements

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of UX and UI designers, fostering a culture of experimentation and design excellence. 
- Contribute individually and be hands-on for projects including on-device interactions and companion app development.
- Define and drive end-to-end experience strategy across multi-device ecosystems. 
- Oversee the creation of interaction frameworks that integrate voice, gesture, touch, and spatial input. 
- Partner with product, engineering, and AI teams to align design vision with technical feasibility and roadmap priorities. 
- Establish and evolve scalable design systems and interaction patterns across devices and platforms. 
- Ensure consistency and quality across all user touchpoints, from no-display interfaces to rich visual systems. 
- Translate ambiguous concepts into clear product direction, prototypes, and shipped experiences. 
- Advocate for user-centered design through research, testing, and iterative validation. 
Job Requirements: 
- 5+ years in UX/UI or interaction design, with 1+ years in a leadership role. 
- Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped products, ideally in wearables, IoT, or AI-driven experiences. 
- Deep understanding of multi-modal interaction (voice, gesture, spatial, ambient systems). 
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including hardware and AI engineering. 
- Expertise in design systems, product thinking, and scaling design across ecosystems. 
- Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder alignment skills. 
- Strong bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Chicago and China-based studios and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications 
- Systems thinker who can connect product vision across devices and contexts. 
- Comfortable leading in ambiguity and shaping early-stage innovation. 
- Passionate about redefining human–AI interaction.
