Description and Requirements

Lenovo is seeking a UX/HF Design Analyst to join our growing User Experience Design (UXD) team. The user is at the core of everything we do here at Lenovo and your expertise is needed to help bring the voice of the customer into the design process.

In this role, you will use your user experience and human factors background to provide valuable insights to our design and development teams. By performing benchmarks, heuristic reviews, and user research, you’ll influence and inform the business on key changes in the industry, new technologies, and evolving user behavior.

This role will involve close collaboration with other members of the UXD team – human factors engineers, user experience designers, user researchers, data scientists – as well as other key stakeholders such as product developers, product managers, engineers, and executives throughout the design process.

This role reports to the Senior Manager of UXD Research and Insights


  • Conduct regular benchmarks of Lenovo and competitor products and deliver those findings in a compelling and engaging manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Research and Insights team to conduct various types of user research, from generative to summative, and advocate for the voice of the user.
  • Work towards becoming a subject matter expert (SME) for key user interfaces, such as display, keyboard, etc.
  • From your growing collection of insights, provide clear opinions and actionable recommendations to the design and development process.
  • Participate in strategic design activities to explore how new concepts and new technologies could improve the user experience.
  • Work on a regular cadence, providing continuous insights and analysis to explore timely topics for the business.
  • Communicate findings through well-designed and visually appealing mediums, including digital presentations, web, video.
  • Actively follow trends in the consumer electronics industry and work with industry partners to explore new technologies.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with colleagues, executives, external parties, and industry partners in the U.S. and internationally.
  • Think creatively and strategically about the end-to-end user experience and how to apply this information to influence design thinking.


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years professional experience in human factors, ergonomics, user research, industrial design or a related field
  • Experience in performing user experience and/or human factors analyses, particularly of hardware or physical products.
  • Expertise in:
    • Applying human factors and/or ergonomics to product design
    • Conducting user research and/or human performance measurement
    • Developing and leading presentations to a variety of audiences, including executives
  • Experience with:  
    • Microsoft programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere)
  • Ability to:
    • Complete high-quality deliverables autonomously, with strong attention to detail
    • Respond positively to peer review and feedback, continually improving the quality of deliverables.
    • Work under pressure managing multiple projects/requests simultaneously while successfully addressing interruptions and redefined priorities
  • Portfolio and/or examples demonstrating proven experience in conducting user experience or human factors analyses from prior roles and creating meaningful product or business impact
  • Demonstrates genuine interest in following the consumer electronics industry
  • Organizationally savvy, with demonstrated ability to influence leaders and facilitate alignment and clear decision-making
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership, project management, and influencing skills
  • Passionate advocate for the customer
  • Language proficiency: Excellent written and verbal English
  • Ability to travel (10%)


  • Master’s degree
  • Experience working for a consumer electronics company
  • Experience working at a global company
  • Experience working with both consumer and commercial customers
  • Experience with web authoring tools (e.g., HTML/CSS, Wordpress)
